Comparing the Effectiveness of Intrasocket Dispensible Piroxicam vs Ketorol in Postoperative Pain Management after Mandibular Molar Transalveolar Extraction

Abstract
AIM: To compare the efficacy of intra socket piroxicam vs ketorol in post operative pain Management after surgical extraction of mandibular molars.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study is double blinded, randomised, 50 patient who under went third molar removal under local anesthesia were randomly divided into two groups:Group A intrasocket piroxicam 20 mg and Group B intra socket ketorol. The dispersible tablets was applied to the extracted socket and covered with restorable gelatin sponge. The post operative pain, swelling, trismus is noted.
RESULT: There was no statistical significance differences between the two intrasocket tablets, both drugs sufficiently controls inflammation and post operative pain, swelling, trismus.
CONCLUSION: Within the limits of this study we conclude that intra socket use of both drugs show no significant differences between two groups of patients.
