Abstract

The Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,1985  the Act point to meet India's duties under the Solitary accord on Narcotic Drugs, the accord on Psychotropic medium, and the United Nations accord Against Illegal Trade in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic medium. The NDPS Act of 1985 is divided into six chapters and 83 sections. In today's age the drugs abuse and drugs usage is on its peak to curb its usage and distribution the government and the legislature of India has made the above stated act. The NDPS Act not only curbs the distribution, possession and trade but also punishes the wrongdoer for his crime. further it also talks about various varieties of drugs an act's amendments, judgments, its objectives, history and background of NDPS Act and much more
