Water Pollution and Its Impact on Human Health

Abstract

Our survival on Earth mainly depends on three basic resources – water, air and soil, nature’s three valuable gifts to mankind. Among which water is the most important component as it forms the basic medium for origin of life. Water pollution is a global issue and world population is facing worst consequences of polluted water. Major sources of water pollution are discharge of domestic and agriculture wastes, population growth, excessive use of pesticides and fertilizers and urbanization. Bacterial, viral and parasitic diseases are spreading through polluted water which affecting the human health. Deaths and diseases are caused worldwide due to water pollution and approximately 14000 people die every day due to water pollution. So, it is important that we should pay more attention to this issue of water pollution and take some action for a better and healthy future.
